Coffee: A Little Extra Energy

Are you a morning person? I am definitely not! For me, I need a little pick-me-up right away in the AM or in the afternoon. Coffee is one option for me! As a bonus, it gives me a little extra energy on the days when I am struggling with fatigue.

My favorite coffee shop is Bigby Coffee, you can check out their facebook here. They have numerous hot coffees, delicious cold brew, and the best tea lattes I have ever tasted! Unfortunately, purchasing coffee on a weekly basis can get so expensive!

So, even though I may go out for coffee once in a while or when I have coupon, buying coffee from a cafe every day isn’t a feasible option.

What’s the answer? Brew at home! It took me a while to discover what I like. I am currently using a Keurig to make single cups (you can find a similar one here). I tried many flavors and K-cups (with some success), but my favorite by far is simple and low in sugar.

I start with my favorite mug, add in my desired amount of milk (I usually add an extra 2 oz or so of whole milk), a dash of my French Vanilla syrup to taste, and brew my Folgers French Roast right into my cup — No need to stir if you got your flavoring right!

I use Torani syrup because it is tasty and even SUGAR FREE (which is better for your teeth and your health!). Find it here on Amazon:

Although you can use any coffee of choice, I just use Folgers because it is inexpensive and in my (non-coffee-conisseur) opinion, rich and delicious. I personally prefer a medium or dark roast, because I love the added flavor. You can find this French Roast on Amazon here: https://amzn.to/2XfKGkP

I typically drink my coffee too slowly to use a regular mug, so I use stainless steel tumbler. It keeps my coffee warm for hours and is travel ready (it has a lid and fits in my car’s cup holder). You can find the tumbler I use on Amazon here.

Remember, although coffee may provide a temporary burst of energy, your true strength and energy comes from the Lord!

28 Have you not known? Have you not heard?
The Lord is the everlasting God,
    the Creator of the ends of the earth.
He does not faint or grow weary;
    his understanding is unsearchable.
29 He gives power to the faint,
    and to him who has no might he increases strength.
30 Even youths shall faint and be weary,
    and young men shall fall exhausted;
31 but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength;
    they shall mount up with wings like eagles;
they shall run and not be weary;
    they shall walk and not faint.

Isaiah 40:28-31 ESV
